You should include descriptive keywords that relate to what your audience is searching for in a short summarized paragraph. Each meta description should be unique for the page it relates to. For example, your meta description explaining one service should not be the same as another page that describes another service. They should relate exactly to the page you are writing about. Add New Links To Old Content
When content has been on your website for years, it can lose it’s value. Many people don’t think to update their old content on their website with new and updated links to new content. While short-form content doesn’t necessarily mean your website won’t rank well (there are some that do), the majority of high ranking sites have lots of content for their readers to indulge in. Even if you don’t think anybody is reading that far, Google is. You want Google to be able to crawl as much content as possible to ensure you are ranking high for the appropriate keywords. Even if you don’t implement this on every section of your website, your service pages are a good place to start. Add More Headers
Relating to long-form content above, you should also implement using more headers to break that content up. Refrain from long lengthy paragraphs that are difficult to follow and read. Instead, choose sections in your content that are important and include important keywords, and make them a H1, H2, or H3 header. This has been proven to increase your ranking because when Google crawls your content, they put more importance on headers and when those headers include your keywords, it’s even better.
Bring Content Out of Tabs and Accordions
For any content that you have on your website that’s hidden in drop-down tabs or accordion tabs, consider bringing it out so people don’t have to click to see it. While it isn’t proven that Google penalizes content that is hidden in tabs, it is easier for your audience to see and engage with the content than if they have to look for it.
